Hey everybody, It was only a hand full of us at the PLAYDATE this past friday. I got there late, but still had a great time. If you have not had the chance to go, you should. you just might have some fun. Those of you who work to much to enjoy yourselves and see old friends and just hang out, don't let life pass you by. | Ladies and Gentleman: I am asking a question for all who want to answer. With the turnout that we had at Dave and Busters, Would it be better to have the reunion at someone house? If only 20-30 of us show up at the event, we could use the money we already have to buy the food, have a tent PUT up by PROFESSIONALS and take care of everything that is needed. I would volunteer my home for the event. I have enough room for a very large tent and parking. It is o.k. with my wife (Sonya she actually talked to me about it several months ago). But I am always willing to go along with whatever the committee decides. I can provide a video and pictures if ya'll would like to see, or better yet have the next planning meeting at my home. Fort Worth authorities expect to charge roofer with murder of grandfatherFORT WORTH — Investigators anticipate filing a murder charge against a 40-year-old Fort Worth man accused of pushing his 81-year-old grandfather off a roof during an argument this week, fatally injuring the man, a homicide supervisor said. Claude Downey, who relatives say ran a roofing business, was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide Wednesday, caused by blunt trauma of the head due to being pushed off a roof. Downey’s grandson, Myron Lee Wilson, remained in the Mansfield Jail on Wednesday with bail set at $25,000 on suspicion of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. Homicide Sgt. J.D. Thornton said investigators plan to seek a murder charge against Wilson after conferring with the Tarrant County district attorney’s office about the case Wednesday. Sgt. Pedro Criado, a police spokesman, said officers sent to a home in the 4900 block of Virgil Street about 5 p.m. Monday on a report of a disturbance found Downey injured and lying in the driveway. Police say Wilson was among a small group of roofers working on the house when he and his grandfather started arguing about Wilson’s work. Criado said Downey climbed a ladder onto the roof and told Wilson to get off. He said that when his grandson refused, Downey tried to take the grandson by the arm. "The suspect pulled away and pushed the victim onto his back, causing him to slide off the roof and onto the driveway," Criado said. Wilson, who was free on bail after being charged last month with evading arrest, was arrested at the scene. Downey was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital. Tarrant County records state that Wilson has served several stints in jail on many convictions dating to 1993, most for misdemeanor assault. He was sentenced to four years in prison in 2004 after his probation was revoked for attempted arson, records show. Relatives reached by telephone Wednesday declined to comment. |
